Montpellier Sud de France by train

To catch a train to and from Montpellier is very easy. Montpellier has two train stations: Gare Montpellier Saint-Roch, located in the heart of the city, 200 metres from Place de la Comédie and Gare Montpellier Sud de France, a TGV station outside the city.

Montpellier Saint-Roch train station

The Montpellier Saint-Roch train station is located right in the center of town, just 200 meters from the Place de la Comédie.

      Montpellier Sud de France station

      The second TGV station in the heart of the future Cambacérès district.
      Objective of this station: to make save time on the journeys since and towards Spain and Belgium, but also Paris and Lyon.

      The new TGV station is the pillar of this new multimodal exchange hub, located in the heart of the future Cambacérès district (“innovation” area where companies/start-ups, higher education establishments, housing and natural spaces will be found).

      Access to the Montpellier Sud de France train station :

      • by bus: Shuttle TaM located at the stop “Place de France”. Access to the bus shuttle with Tramway line 1 or Bus line 9.
      • by Airport shuttle and line 606 from the transportation company”Hérault Transport”
      • by car: when on A709 take the exit 29, Montpellier Est, to the city-center then turn in odysseum.

      Please note: it takes about ten minutes to reach the Gare Sud de France from the Place de France tram stop. It takes about forty minutes to make the connection between the two stations.

      GOOD TO KNOW: This summer, from 01 July to 31 August 2024, the SNCF is planning a change for liO Train users and cyclists! Bicycle spaces must be reserved in advance free of charge – Folding bicycles, scooters (electric or otherwise) and bicycles that have been dismantled and placed in a cover will not be affected by this new system.
