Lac des garrigues

Located in the heart of the Hauts de Massane in the Mosson district of Montpellier, the artificial lake of Garrigues is located in a classified wooded area of 9 hectares. Created in 1896 for the irrigation of the surrounding area thanks to the dam of the same name, it is now a recreational lake fed by the Mosson River, ideal for water sports activities, with a health and orientation course, and a fishing school.

A quiet place to walk or walk your dog, jog or sit on a bench while the children play (swimming prohibited). From the lake of the garrigues, it is even possible to make pretty strolls towards the thermal baths of Juvignac by going along the banks of the Mosson, or towards Grabels and its famous "buttocks of Madam", by going along the Mosson on the other side.
