Not far from Lodève is the Priory of Grandmont situated on a prehistoric site overlooking spectacular landscape. Classified Historical Monument, a real jewel of roman architecture, it is the only remaining monastery of the Order of Grandmont entirely preserved from the 12th and 13th centuries: church, cloister, chapter hall, convents. Saint Michel is one of the better examples of architecture from this period, pure and well-balanced; it includes the only cloister of this preserved order....
