I enjoy the sun on the Place de la Comédie

Whether it’s for a walk, to have a lunch or a drink, Place de la Comédie is the place to be ! In the heart of the city, this magnificent square exudes the love of life and the sun is (almost) always shining. Ready for a little walk ?

A meeting point

Ding! The blue tramway (line 1) stops and Manon finally arrives. I’ve been waiting for her for more than 15mins, at the foot of the Three Graces! We haven’t seen each other for months and we have a lot to deal with.

I absolutely wanted us to meet here: it was our favorite meeting point when we were students in college and it brings back good memories.

The beating heart of the City

No cars around, it’s nice! We get up to walk a bit, before going shopping. On our right, in front of the department store, children are enjoying the carousel.

Look ! A pedicab driving a lady by the power of its pedals! A little steps further, a musician plays a festive tune with his guitar and his notes brighten up the town.

What I like the most here is that there is always a good atmosphere: one day it’s a man who comes to blow big bubbles with the children, the next day a hip hop group is performing. , two days later, street mimes surprise us with their performances…

–          Look Manon, the touristic train starts its tour !

Did you know ?

The original statue of the Three Graces, in marble, is now located inside the Opéra Comédie. It is classified as a Historical Monument.

Place de la Comédie is also called Place de l’oeuf (egg) because of its oval shape.

A little break in the shade of the plane trees on the Esplanade

We arrive at the fountain of the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle. Here, in the middle of summer, the cicadas have a great time, hidden in the branches of the plane trees.

A little shade is good! We buy a good ice cream and we will settle on a bench, near the park of the espla, before heading to the alleys of the center and their pretty shops.
